24 Years

24 years ago, this day, my parents said, "I do," to each other. In the words of my father, "It's been a blissful adventure with my best friend and we are just getting started!" And if I've seen anything during my sixteen years of life it's that my parents have one of the most blessed and blissful marriages I've ever seen. 24 years and my daddy still looks at my mom like she's the most beautiful thing he's ever beheld. 24 years and my dad still can make my mom laugh like no one else. 24 years and they still dance together barefoot in the living room. Their love for each other hasn't dimmed from the day they became man and wife if anything it's grown stronger and blossomed even more beautifully.

It's a beautiful for me to behold, when I see them kiss I don't get grossed out. I love that they are open with their love for each other in front of their daughters. It shows me how much they love each other and it brings joy to my heart. I love to watch them dream together. I love to watch mommy lay her head on dad's shoulder. I love to see them hold hands as they walk through the town. I love to see them raise their hands in worship together. I love to see them share what God has laid on their hearts. I love to see them be quick to apologize, not letting themselves stay in their anger. I love the example they've set for my sisters and me.

24 years, and as my parents are off just the two of them together, nurturing their relationship, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with how blessed I am that I have a mom and dad that fell in love with each other 24 years ago and are even more in love today.

Thank you Mommy and Daddy for loving each other with such a deep love that it's so very evident to me. Thank you for showing me what it looks like to walk together in a godly marriage. Thank you for still holding hands, and kissing, and dancing in the kitchen. Thank you for continuing to nurture you're relationship by going out on dates just the two of you. Thank you for teaching me how to dream.
I love you both so much! Happy Anniversary!

Love, Zoie
