Different

 I want to be different. I want people to see me and think, "There's something different about her."

Why? Because I want Jesus to shine so brightly in me and through me that people can't help but notice. That's what we're called aren't we? To shine so bright in our world that the darkness can't help but flee. I think today being different is seen as a bad thing, you're supposed to go with the flow and blend in. But that's the thing, as Christians we're supposed to do the opposite, we're supposed to go against the flow and stand out! 

Being different doesn't mean we're supposed to be just different, we're supposed to radiate Jesus in and through our lives. When someone can only see the negative, we need to see the blessing. When the world can only look at the fear, we need to combat it with the faith we have in Jesus. When others our pushing others down, we should be the ones that lift them up. We're called to be different. And as we don't conform to this world, people will see the difference in us, the light, and want that too. Through our lives we need to point people to the source of our light, Jesus. The Christian walk is not one that matches the walk of the rest of the world. The Christian walk is one that, although not easy, leads to life and that more abundantly. So be different! Stand out! Shine the light of Jesus so brightly that it radiates throughout your home, your town, and even our world! Yes, it might be uncomfortable to be the firefly in the swarm of flies, but trust me, your light will draw others to you. And through you, Jesus will spread the light in you to the people around you.

For so the Lord has commanded us,

That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’” -Acts 13:47

“Arise, shine; for your light has come,

And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." - Isaiah 60:1
